James Watkins
Senior Pastor
Brother James became the Senior Pastor of West End Baptist in 2017. He has a degree from the University of Montevallo and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He and His wife Karen have two adult sons, Matthew and John.
James has a heart for people and a passion for evangelism. He is also a state certified coach and assist as a volunteer in baseball. Through his ministry inside and outside the church he clings to his life verse… Proverbs 3:5-6
Eddie Lightsey
Associate Pastor
Bro. Eddie is a native of Centreville, Alabama and he has served Churches in Alabama and Louisiana since 1987. He served as Minister of Music at WEBC from 1997-2013. He transitioned to Associate Pastor at WEBC in 2013. Isaiah 40:31 is not only his life verse, but is also words that he has used through the years to help others. He is married to Sharon and they have two children: Jordan and Allie. He’s a big fan of Orange Beach, the outdoors and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Kenny Martin
Minister to Students
Kenny became part of the West End family in 1997. He has a passion for leading students and families to a deeper living relationship with God. As the leader of Crossroads StudentMinistries, he also works with the media of West End Baptist in graphics, video production and web design. He also serves as chaplain to the Chilton County High School football team, and shares devotions with all the athletes weekly at CCHS. Kenny is married to Jessica and they have one son named Barrett. 1 John 1:5 is Kenny’s life verse and also the central verse of Crossroads StudentMinistries.
Michelle Jeremiah
Director of childhood ministries
Michelle joined the West End Baptist staff in 2018. With a passion for working with children, she has brought a new life to our children’s ministries. Michelle and her staff of volunteers have created an environment that our children love to be in. Through the dynamic teaching and puppets, our Children’s Church has become one of our weekly highlights. Michell is married to Michael and they have three children, Michayla, Maegan and Macy. In her ministry and life, Michelle Proverbs 3:5-6 has been the verse God has used to guide her.
Paula Kornegay
Director of worship ministries
Paula joined the staff at West End Baptist in 2019. She has a heart for worship and evangelism as well as mission. As director of worship, she leads weekly in our services and works with our praise team, our instrumentalist, handbells and children’s choirs. Paula is married to Barry and they have two children and seven grandchildren. Her favorite bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6.
